Rear-End Collision Avoidance System
The Rear-end Collision Avoidance System is a device designed to warn vehicles behind you in advance when emergency braking is taking place. It integrates forecasting, electronics, dynamics, human engineering and other technologies. During high-speed driving, this system can send out early warning to vehicles tailing you, which will allow them to better avoid rear-end collision. The RCAS 2000 is more then just your basic brake light strobe module, the RCAS is designed to see into the future or at least try. The RCAS monitors emergency throttle down and braking giving the driver behind you a 0.4-0.6 advanced warning signal of upcoming events that they may need to slowed down or come to an abrupt stop for. The RCAS will actually engage the brake lights 0.3-0.5 seconds before your vehicle actually begins to brake allowing the driver behind you more time to start slowing down their vehicle and become aware of any proceeding danger of an abrupt stop or throttle down.

1. Emergency Brake – Warning 0.3-0.5 seconds in advance
The sudden “throttle down” action is a forecasting of Emergency Braking. When the RCAS detects the driver is “throttle down” too fast, it will immediately trigger the brake lights to warn the vehicles behind you before you step on the brake . This action lights the brake lights up 0.4-0.6 seconds earlier than normal braking. It makes the vehicles behind you reducing braking 5-17 meter if the car speed is 60-120KM/H. This action makes the possibility of a rear-end collision reduced, or at least the damage is reduced significantly even if a collision happens.
2. More effective in bad weather- Warning to drivers behind you
A fast “throttle down” action without stepping on brake will make the brake lights illuminate for 2-3 seconds warning the vehicles behind you behind you ever have to step on the brake. This function is particularly useful in rainy and snowy weather. If the Vehicles speed is high, we can’t directly brake because of slippery roads. Generally, for normal vehicles, we first throttle down to reduce the speed. But at this time, the vehicle behind you does not know you are quickly y decelerating and keeps moving at high speed for a time until observing your braking lights. By this time it is usually already approaching too close and the time is too short to avoid an accident! This is a major reason that accidents happen frequently in rainy and snowy weather. 3. Strong stimulation – 4 flashes in 1 second
Visual fatigue happens to a driver who drives for more then one hour, causing his agility to reduced. On the other hand, daylight also reduces brake light visibility. With these two aspects, the driver often fails to see brake lights turn on quickly, so a rear-end collision happens.
